This is a great moment for me, and what makes it particularly meaningful, particularly gratifying, is that I&#8217;m receiving this distinguished award from a man who&#8217;s been such an inspiration to me all these many months. Where would any of us be without Dave Winer? I&#8217;ll tell you where we&#8217;d be: We&#8217;d still be surfing static web pages with Internet Explorer. When Dave told me that I would receive this special award, I first broke down and cried, but then, after I pulled myself together, I said to him, &#8220;Dave, it&#8217;s fine to receive, but what I really want to do is give. I want to give something back to the great Web 2.0 community that&#8217;s been like a family to me.&#8221; And so I&#8217;m pleased to announce that Dave and I have agreed to team up to organize CampWarsKeggerCamp. We believe that the only way to stop this awful <a href=\"http:\/\/www.horsepigcow.com\/2006\/03\/doc-talks-smack-about-barcamp.html\">CampWars fracture<\/a> from, well, fracturing even further is for all of us to sit down together &#8211; in a true spirit of openness and sharing &#8211; and co-create a solution. CampWarsKeggerCamp will be held next Saturday in Dave&#8217;s backyard. Ryan King has volunteered to <a href=\"http:\/\/theryanking.com\/blog\/archives\/2006\/03\/04\/live-by-the-snark-die-by-the-snark\/\">supply the kegs<\/a>, and Doc Searls has kindly agreed to bring his <a href=\"http:\/\/doc.weblogs.com\/2006\/03\/05#theStoreAndTheStory\">ECM Giotto Premium<\/a> espresso maker. As I see it &#8211; and I think Dave agrees with me here &#8211; CampWarsKeggerCamp won&#8217;t be like a traditional Camp.
