We are all prostitutes

July 15, 2006

It's the Attention Economy's version of rough trade: Steve Gillmor whispers a sweet nothing into Dave Winer's ear, and Winer pays him off with a legal-tender link. I'm betting Steve feels all dirty this morning.

Aussie metaphysician Ben Barren sees in Gillmor's air kiss a "quasi-political message about the role of invisible attention gestures that need to be addresssed as this movement goes overground."

That wasn't an invisible gesture, Ben. It was an empty gesture.
