All the news that's fit to feed
April 05, 2006
Federated Media, John Battelle's blog advertising syndicate, has launched a walled garden version of Tech Memeorandum, aggregating tech headlines from its own group of bloggers onto a single page and a single feed. Battelle calls it "the best of the best voices in technology blogs."
It's a retro idea - imposing the old magazine model on the blogosphere - and will make for a good experiment, particularly if it evolves to have more of an editorial identity of its own. I wonder how the social-media hardliners will react, though. Isn't this, when you get down to it, an example of old-time anti-social media?

There's some news on that site but there's also the ever present 'A-list' name dropping and coverage of 'old boy network' sites that need VC money or that are just looking for a get-rich-quick cashout.
